First Steps
An Art Shape First Steps course for creatively building confidence and new skills. This course is free for people who are 19+ and living in Gloucestershire, who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Have 5 GCSES or less
- Want to gain confidence to build new skills

Ways to Begin Writing
During one of the sessions for the Ways to Begin Writing courses, participants wrote collective poems where everybody described an alien’s head, folded the paper over and passed it to the next person who described its head and shoulders etc. At the end we unfolded the paper and read out the full description/poem.
One of the learners, Nicola Grant, decided to take these alien poems home and, inspired by the words, created illustrations. We are so impressed with them and wanted to celebrate her work here.
