Seagulls Lair

This was created over the period of a year, it represents the blue open skies of the outdoors to the feeling of being confined, restricted and oppressed as soon as I get into the house.  Seagull has been my partner’s nickname since I’ve known him. This is what happens when you have a musician and avid collector of all things living with a disabled artist, who just happens to have an awful lot of stuff herself. Good job I’ve finally got a studio. I create Colourful, Surreal, expressionist style pieces to show the inner workings of my over active imagination. Some are representations of what is happening to, or around me and although not initially apparent many are of a highly personal nature. Others are just expressions of the characters I see which others don’t. Being both physically and visually impaired does make you see things differently but even before this I was always told “Joanne, you have very Strangeways”.
