Hand in Glove Performance Company

The works combine photographic stills from a film – Docking Station – and a text that the performers in the film drew on for their performance.

The devising company Hand in Glove, who created this film as part of The Arts Council England’s Elevate project, explore movement and gesture in relation to backstories which provide a context for improvisation and choreographed sequences. Part of Hand in Glove’s commitment is to work with artists who challenge normative perceptions of external reality often because of their disabling barriers. Individuals explore their perceptions, sensations and creative expression within a group setting.

The company worked with the writer/director/actor Scott Peacock for this film as well as commissioning texts from the writers Claire Smith and Barbara Bridger.
